Tehama County authorities have arrested Dylan Dayberg, a Red Bluff man, on 32 felony charges related to child sex abuse. The arrest came after a seven-month investigation by the Tehama County Sheriff's Office (TCSO), culminating in a search warrant served at his workplace on Kinney Avenue, north of Red Bluff. The investigation began after detectives received information about possible child sexual abuse material being manufactured in the area. On June 18, deputies detained Dayberg at his workplace and subsequently served a search warrant at his home in the 14500 block of Kinney Avenue.
According to the TCSO, Dayberg faces multiple counts, including lewd acts with a child under 14, possession of child sexual abuse material, and manufacturing such material. The investigation revealed that Dayberg allegedly admitted to creating child sex abuse materials. The charges reflect a pattern of serious offenses against minors. Additional charges include child abuse with possible gross bodily injury, possession of obscene material, use of an underage person for obscene material, sending obscene material depicting a minor, and annoying or molesting a victim under 18. The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are expected.
During the search, deputies also discovered a firearm that allegedly violates California's assault weapon laws and high-capacity magazine restrictions. This adds weapons-related charges to the already extensive list of offenses. The presence of an illegal weapon raises additional public safety concerns.
Tehama County, a rural area in Northern California, has seen increased focus on child exploitation cases in recent years. The TCSO has been proactive in investigating such crimes, often collaborating with regional task forces. This case highlights the ongoing challenges in protecting children in smaller communities.
