On July 8, 2026, Madera County Sheriff's Office detectives, in coordination with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), executed a search warrant at a residence near Meadow Lane and Pine Ridge Road in Oakhurst. The operation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jeremy Michael Flud for possession of child sexual abuse material.
The investigation began when detectives received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding suspected CSAM possession in Oakhurst, CA. Detectives identified Flud as the suspect and located electronic devices containing CSAM during the search.
Madera County, located in California's Central Valley, has seen a rise in cybercrime investigations. The Madera County Sheriff's Office actively participates in regional task forces to combat online child exploitation. Oakhurst, a community in the Sierra Nevada foothills, is part of this jurisdiction.
The Central California ICAC Task Force, part of a national network, works to investigate and prosecute internet crimes against children. NCMEC's CyberTipline is a key reporting mechanism for suspected online exploitation, with over 29 million reports in 2023 alone.
Flud was booked at Madera County Jail. All electronic devices were seized for further examination.
