The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) has issued an urgent alert Saturday for two 9-year-old twins, Solomon and Marozhina Sukonick, who were abducted by their father in Lancaster. The children were last seen Thursday evening, and authorities are asking for the public's help to locate them safely.
According to LASD, the children were last seen around 8 p.m. on July 23 near the 1000 block of West Avenue J-8 in Lancaster. Their father, 71-year-old David Sukonick, picked them up in a 2011 Black Lincoln Town Car with California license plate #SOLOYST. The twins are both 4 feet 4 inches tall, weigh 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Marozhina was last seen wearing pink shorts and a white shirt; Solomon wore blue shorts and an unknown colored shirt. David Sukonick is 5 feet 7 inches tall, 135 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants, a white shirt, and a blue bandana. According to reports, David Sukonick shared a photo of the children on Facebook on July 13. One commenter wrote, "They look miserable. Praying these children are found safe!" Lancaster, located in the Antelope Valley region of Los Angeles County, has seen occasional missing persons cases, but this abduction involving a parent is particularly alarming. The LASD Lancaster Station is leading the investigation, working with neighboring jurisdictions.
Parental abductions, while less common than stranger abductions, still pose serious risks to children. According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, parental abduction is often motivated by custody disputes or family stress. In California, AMBER Alerts are issued in the most severe cases, but this incident has not yet triggered one. David Sukonick reportedly owns a dance floor company called Bolo Productions, according to his social media. On the company's page, he stated, "I design and build the floor so that I can maintain utmost quality control."
The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the suspect vehicle or the individuals to law enforcement. Immediate action could be critical to ensuring the safe return of Solomon and Marozhina.
