Officers from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department responded to a 911 call Tuesday evening and found Lytton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They provided emergency aid until medics arrived.
Lytton, 56, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but later died from his injuries.
Investigators arrested Devin A. Rice, 23, on a charge of criminal homicide. During an interview at police headquarters, Rice allegedly admitted that he and Lytton argued over a drink before he pulled out a handgun and shot him.
Rice initially fled the U-Haul business after the shooting but was taken into custody by investigators. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
The fatal shooting occurred at the U-Haul location on Annex Avenue in West Nashville. Authorities have not said what type of drink sparked the dispute.
