Riverside police arrested a man on suspicion of murder after his wife was found dead and he was found critically injured in their home. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Christina Buckley. Her husband, 45-year-old Luke Buckley, is now held without bail.
Authorities received a report about two people down inside a home in the 10000 block of Fox Street, near the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Harrison Street, around 5:25 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. When officers arrived, they found Christina Buckley dead. Luke Buckley was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe Christina Buckley was stabbed to death. Detective Steven Espinosa, a department spokesman, said the weapon used was a knife. Espinosa said on Thursday, Aug. 6 that an investigation into the motive is ongoing.
Homicide detectives allege that Luke Buckley killed his wife before harming himself. After he was released from the hospital, he was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on one count of murder. He is being held without bail.
