Emergency phone service in Indio is down. The Indio Police Department said Thursday that it is "currently experiencing an issue affecting 9-1-1 emergency phone lines." The department asked residents to call 760-775-3730 if they need immediate help from police or fire personnel.
City News Service reported that the line was out of service and that it was unclear when it would be restored. The cause of the outage has not been explained. The Desert Sun also confirmed that 911 lines were not working in Indio.
