Late last month, before the school’s graduation ceremony in early June, Woodland High School in Woodland, Yolo County, honored its 2026 varsity student-athletes during the annual end-of-the-year spring sports banquet. The event recognized outstanding performers across multiple sports, celebrating their achievements and contributions to the school’s athletic programs.
The list of team MVP recipients includes Joey Christison for boys’ golf, Sawyer Muth for boys’ track events, and Jacob Ceja Lopez for boys’ field events. In baseball, Cohen Dwyer was named varsity baseball MVP.
For boys volleyball, Gio Borego received the offensive MVP award, while Lucas Copaciu was honored for defense. Santiago Marin Rodriguez earned the MVP title for boys tennis.
On the girls’ side, Janette Montez Alvarado was recognized as MVP for girls’ field events, and Natalia Vasquez took home the defensive MVP award for softball. Hailey Hobbs was named offensive MVP for softball.
Aurora Anchondo Craig received the MVP award for girls’ track events, Charlotte Brunson was honored for swim, and Alondra Cano earned the MVP title for girls tennis.
The banquet served as a celebration of the dedication and hard work of these student-athletes throughout the spring season, highlighting their leadership and skill in their respective sports. The school community gathered to applaud their accomplishments, marking a memorable end to the academic year.
