UCLA Pilot Program to Expand Opportunities for Community College Transfers

UCLA is launching a pilot program this fall that gives priority admission consideration to community college transfer students who earn an associate degree in select majors. The program, mandated by Assembly Bill 1291, aims to improve access and diversity.

- The program is available to students from 10 California Community Colleges, including Cypress College and Oxnard College. - Eligible majors include anthropology, chemistry, environmental science, geology, mathematics, history, political science, and philosophy.

- Qualified students are guaranteed admission to at least one other UC campus. - The program is set to expand to more majors and other UC campuses by 2028-29.
