A tragic drowning incident has claimed the life of a two-year-old boy in the small community of Cutler, Tulare County. According to the Tulare County Sheriff's Office (TCSO), deputies responded to a residence in the 12000 block of Alta Drive shortly before 4:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, following a report of a possible drowning.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the toddler had wandered into the backyard and was found unresponsive in an above-ground pool. First responders immediately began administering CPR to the child.
Despite their efforts, the boy was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident has left the community in mourning. The TCSO has not released the child's name pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning is ongoing, but authorities have indicated that the event appears to be a tragic accident.
