Public Invited to Name Big Bear's New Bald Eagle Chicks

The community is invited to participate in naming the two new eaglets of famous Big Bear bald eagles Jackie and Shadow. The chicks hatched on April 4 and 5 after the couple's first clutch was lost earlier in the season.

Name submissions are accepted via the Friends of Big Bear Valley website through April 26, with a donation supporting the nest camera. A computer will select finalists, and local third-graders will cast the final vote to choose the names.

This annual contest helps fund the popular livestream and engages the public in the eagles' story.
