Mother Kills Husband, Two Children, and Self in LA County Murder-Suicide

Authorities have released new details on a tragic murder-suicide that left four dead Wednesday evening in the San Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at around 7:50 p.m.

Wednesday on the 16200 block of Londelius Street, near the intersection of Parthenia Street and Woodley Avenue in North Hills. Officers found four people dead from gunshot wounds inside the home.

Investigators believe a 30-year-old mother shot and killed her husband, her 2-year-old toddler, and her 6-day-old newborn before turning the gun on herself. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office identified three of the deceased as 31-year-old Khajag Basmajian; 2-year-old Alec Basmajian; and 6-day-old Ella Basmajian.

The identity of the mother has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The incident has shocked the North Hills community and is under investigation by LAPD detectives.
