St. Bernard's and Ferndale Highlight Little Four All-League Baseball Selections

Updated: CaliforniaToday Humboldt County

The Little Four Conference all-Humboldt-Del Norte League baseball selections have been released, recognizing standout players from the region. St.

Bernard's, which finished an undefeated 12-0 in conference play and 22-5 overall, led the way with five all-league selections, including a co-MVP, and five honorable mentions. The Crusaders' senior co-MVP Tyler Hinrichs, along with Michael Manzi and Luke Brunton, were key contributors to the team's success.

Henry Hinrichs and Braylon Johnson also earned all-league honors.

St. Bernard's head coach Matt Tomlin praised his players, stating, "I just felt we had a lot of kids that deserved it this year.

Obviously, a 22-5 record and undefeated in league, a lot of kids deserve the honors they got." Tomlin highlighted the impact of underclassmen Teyler Bailey and Dakota Bestul, who received honorable mentions. "Tyler was selected for co-MVP, and Michael easily could have been an MVP," Tomlin added, emphasizing the senior leadership of Hinrichs, Manzi, and Brunton.

Manzi, a four-year varsity player with four all-county stars, was noted for his exceptional hitting and leadership behind the plate and on the mound.

Ferndale, with an 8-4 league record, placed three players on the all-league list, including co-MVP Tanner Pidgeon, Prescott Langer, and Cash Mobley, with Tristen Titus earning an honorable mention. Ferndale head coach Justin Andersen described Mobley as a "Swiss army knife" who contributed in multiple positions and excelled offensively.

Pidgeon, who led the team in hits and batting average, was praised for managing the pitching staff. Langer, known for his stamina on the mound and hitting prowess, was a reliable starter for the Wildcats.

"Prescott put more innings in, in this four-year career, than probably anybody that I've had since I've been here," Andersen said. All three seniors—Pidgeon, Langer, and Titus—will be missed, with Andersen noting their significant impact on the program and community.

South Fork had two all-league selections and one honorable mention, while Hoopa had one all-conference player and four honorable mentions. For South Fork, Travis Way and Mason Bell earned all-league nods, and Kael Puno received an honorable mention.

Hoopa's Allen Kane was named to the all-Little Four Conference team, with Brian Richards, Delmar Ferris, David Sylvia, and Barret Myers as honorable mentions.

The selections reflect a competitive season across the Little Four Conference, with top players recognized for their contributions on the field.
