A man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in the lobby of a Motel 6 in Sacramento, according to police. The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m.
at the motel located on Elsie Avenue in Sacramento County. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not yet made any arrests. The area was cordoned off for several hours as detectives collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.
