The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has announced the start of the 25th Annual North Valley Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, a community effort to boost local blood supplies and bring home the competition trophy. The drive begins with a mobile blood donation event on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. at the Tractor Supply store in Oakhurst.
Every donation made during the campaign earns points for the Madera County Sheriff’s Office in the friendly Battle of the Badges competition, which pits law enforcement and emergency service agencies against one another. Donors can also support the sheriff’s team throughout the month of June by visiting any Central California Blood Center location and specifying that their donation is on behalf of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to the Oakhurst event, the sheriff’s office will host several other mobile drives. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 8:00 a.m.
to 12:00 p.m., a drive will take place at the Madera County Government Center, located at 200 West 4th Street in Madera. Another mobile drive is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. at 9300 Valley Children’s Place.
Organizers emphasize that each donation helps provide critical blood supplies to local patients in need. The goal is to unite the community in a lifesaving cause while competing for the Battle of the Badges trophy.
The sheriff’s office encourages everyone who is eligible to roll up a sleeve and donate at any of the listed dates and locations.
“Together, we can save lives, support our community, and bring the Battle of the Badges trophy home to Madera County,” officials said in the announcement.
