The Long Beach Coast continue to dominate in their inaugural Pioneer Baseball League season, posting a 24-6 overall record and riding a five-game win streak. The team kicked off the week with a six-game series against the Modesto Roadsters, winning four of those games to clinch the series.

However, the final game ended in a 7-6 knockout-round loss, the team's first such defeat.

After that setback, the Coast traveled to Oakland to face the Ballers. The series opener went to another knockout round, with Long Beach's Matthew Bardowell hitting three home runs in the first round, only to be outdone by Oakland's Treymayne Cobb, who hit four homers to give the Ballers an 8-7 win.

But the Coast bounced back, winning the next two games in dominant fashion: 18-5 and 12-8, securing the series.

Returning home to Bohl Diamond at Blair Field, the Coast hosted the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds for a three-game series and completed a sweep over the weekend. The series opened with a 13-0 shutout, highlighted by left fielder Eddy Pelc's 3-for-3, four-RBI performance, including a three-run homer.

Bardowell added two extra-base hits (a double and a triple) and three RBIs. Starting pitcher Brett Wozniak tossed six innings, allowing only two hits on 73 pitches, and rookie reliever Jaxon Byrd earned the save with three innings of one-hit ball.

In the second game, the Coast scored five runs in the first inning and two more in the third to jump to a 7-0 lead. Starter Garret Van Deventer pitched four scoreless innings before the Freebirds scored in the fifth, but Long Beach held on for a 9-6 win.

On Father's Day, the Coast completed the sweep with a 6-2 victory, their fourth series sweep and sixth consecutive series win of the season. Jacob Jablonski led off the second inning with a solo homer, and Cuba Bess added a three-run shot to put the Coast up 4-0.

Starting pitcher Jack Martin kept the Freebirds hitless through 5 innings, allowing just two hits and two runs total. Martin earned his third win of the season, reinforcing his status as a leading pitcher after being named PBL Pitcher of the Week the previous week.

The Coast now travel to face the Freebirds again in a three-game series Tuesday through Thursday before taking on the Modesto Roadsters over the weekend.
