The Santa Maria-Bonita School District has launched its 2026 Summer Meal Program, ensuring that local children and teens continue to have access to nutritious meals during the summer break. The program, which began on Monday, June 15, and runs through August 7, offers free breakfast and lunch to all youth ages 1 to 18 in the Santa Maria community, with no paperwork or registration required.
Funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Seamless Summer Option, the initiative adheres to strict federal nutritional guidelines.
Families can simply bring their children to any participating site during meal times. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m.
to 8:30 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
To maximize accessibility, the district has partnered with multiple locations across the city, including the Boys & Girls Club at 901 N. Railroad Ave., which operates from June 15 to August 7 (closed Friday, June 19).
Other sites include the Santa Maria Valley YMCA at 3400 Skyway Dr. (June 15–August 7), Fesler Jr.
High School at 1100 E. Fesler St.
(June 16–July 31, closed June 19 and July 3), Allan Hancock College at 800 S. College Dr.
(June 22–July 22, closed July 3), and Santa Maria Foursquare Church at 709 N. Curryer St.
(June 29–July 31).

For updated menus, site maps, and any program changes, community members can visit the district's food services portal at SMBSDFOOD. The program aims to fill the gap left by school closures during the summer, ensuring that children in Santa Maria have reliable access to healthy meals.
