A spirited six-month-old puppy named Bowie is ready for adoption at the Bakersfield Animal Care Center, after overcoming a traumatic start to life. Bowie, shelter ID A166837, was originally adopted as a tiny puppy in March but returned to the shelter as a stray in early June.
When animal control picked him up, he had severe damage to his tail, which unfortunately required amputation. Despite this ordeal, Bowie remains a happy, loving, and quick-learning companion.
He expresses his excitement with a characteristic wiggle instead of a wag, and he is dog-friendly, rides well in the car, and is learning to walk on a leash. Described as a little lap dog, Bowie would make an excellent companion.
The Bakersfield Animal Care Center is located at 201 South Mt Vernon Avenue in Bakersfield, where Bowie can be adopted today. For more information, contact the shelter or visit in person.
