Brush Fire Near Oceanside Airport Prompts Evacuation Orders

A brush fire reported near the Oceanside Municipal Airport on Monday morning prompted evacuation orders and warnings for nearby zones, according to officials. The fire was first reported around 10:40 a.m.

in the 1000 block of W. Airport Road, and firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the scene.

By 11:40 a.m., the Oceanside Police Department confirmed that the fire had burned at least 12 acres and was spreading eastward. Containment remained at 0% as of that time.

Evacuation orders were issued for zone SDC-0427, while an evacuation warning was put in place for zone SDC-0428. A temporary evacuation point was established at the El Corazon Senior Center, located at 3302 1/2 S.
