A chaotic incident unfolded on Nob Hill in San Francisco on Friday morning, leaving two police officers and a suspect injured after they were struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m.
near the intersection of California and Hyde streets, according to reports.
Witnesses described a scene of confusion and urgency. One witness told KTVU that they saw the aftermath of the collision, which left one San Francisco police officer pinned under a dark gray Lexus.
A second officer was also seen lying on the ground nearby. A cable car was stopped in the area, adding to the disruption.
According to ABC 7, citing another witness, one of the officers had been wrestling with a suspect in the middle of the street following a dispute in the parking lot of a nearby Trader Joe's. The altercation spilled into the roadway, where the Lexus struck all three individuals.
All three—the two officers and the suspect—were transported to San Francisco General Hospital for trauma care. ABC 7 reported that both officers sustained leg injuries but are expected to recover.
The condition of the suspect was not immediately available.
The San Francisco Police Department is investigating the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
