Three Men, Including Nurse, Charged in Undercover Sting Targeting Sexual Meetings with Minors

Fremont, Hayward, San Leandro, crime, police, court

NEWARK — Three men, including a nurse whose license faces revocation by the state, have been charged with felonies after a recent undercover police sting that involved an officer posing as a 13-year-old boy, court records show. Martin Capati, 31, of Mountain View; Jin Wang, 63, of Fremont; and Anish Dutt, 48, of Hayward and San Leandro, face charges of arranging a sexual meeting with a minor and communicating with a minor for lewd purposes.

The three men were arrested on April 28 in separate investigations and have since been released from jail. The sting involved an officer setting up a dating site account and claiming to be 13, according to court records.

Capati faces an additional legal problem. The California Attorney General’s office is seeking to restrict and eventually revoke his license as a registered nurse, citing the allegations and the “extremely poor judgment” they represent.

A legal filing by the AG’s office says Capati “has shown a lack of ability to control himself.” Court records indicate he faced a similar restriction in 2024, when he was charged with drunk driving in San Mateo and grand theft from a Livermore outlet store. He was convicted of drunk driving but had the theft case dismissed after completing a diversion program last December.

The allegations against all three men are similar. They allegedly began talking to the undercover officer after the dating app “matched” them and said sexually explicit things after the officer “revealed” themselves as a 13-year-old boy, according to police.

When they showed up to the meetings, they were arrested. Capati told authorities that he wanted to have dinner with the person he was talking to and see what they were like.

When asked if he would have had sex with a 13-year-old, he allegedly responded, “I mean, maybe, I don’t know,” police said in court filings. Wang allegedly told the undercover officer “I like young boys” and arranged to meet the purported boy after he was released from school that day, police said.

Dutt allegedly discussed specific sexual acts and then said, “Yeah I want to do all that whatever you like but I don’t wanna get arrested please.” When arrested, Dutt allegedly told police he didn’t really think he was speaking with a teen boy and didn’t intend to do anything like they discussed. However, police say he brought personal lubricant and three condoms to the meeting.
