The Tahoe Literary Festival, a grassroots nonprofit celebration of the literary arts, has announced its call for submissions for the 2026 festival, set to take place in October on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The event, now in its third year, aims to bring together acclaimed authors, poets, publishers, industry leaders, and emerging voices for a weekend of creativity and community.
Organizers are accepting proposals for workshops, panels, craft talks, author conversations, and other literary programming through July 10, 2026. Submissions can be made via the festival's website at TahoeLitFest.com.
This year's festival will feature a dedicated Business of Writing track, offering practical guidance for authors and creatives seeking to build sustainable careers. Sessions will cover publishing pathways, marketing, platform-building, branding, entrepreneurship, and navigating the evolving literary landscape.
The lineup of featured authors includes Parvati Shallow, author, entrepreneur, and television personality; California Poet Laureate Lee Herrick; Nevada Poet Laureate Shaun Griffin; Grant Faulkner, author and co-founder of Memoir Nation Podcast; award-winning author Suzanne Roberts; and novelist and writing teacher Sands Hall. Additional guests will be announced throughout the summer.
The festival will include a mix of free and ticketed events, literary conversations, workshops, a community book fair, and networking opportunities with writers from across the region and beyond. A complete schedule and ticket information will be released later in the summer.
Ticket sales will be available at TahoeLitFest.com. The festival encourages community members to follow its Instagram and Facebook pages for updates.
The event is supported by local readers in Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and the surrounding areas, whose contributions help sustain quality journalism and community programming.
