The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious death after a man's body was discovered at the scene of a vehicle fire in Bakersfield. The incident occurred on June 8, 2026, in the area of Oswell Street and Oregon Street.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. after reports of a vehicle fire and the discovery of a body.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin. The Kern County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
