Shooting at Kaiser Medical Offices in San Jose Leaves Two Critically Injured

A shooting at a Kaiser Permanente medical office building in San Jose on Monday morning left a man and a woman critically injured, according to police. The incident occurred around 10 a.m.

at the Kaiser facility located at 5755 Cottle Road in San Jose. San Jose police reported that both victims suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital.

The shooting took place in an area between an outpatient psychiatric facility and an ophthalmology clinic, as reported by ABC 7. Kaiser issued a shelter-in-place order for the building, which was lifted around noon, according to KTVU.

Lisa Cohn, whose husband works as a surgeon at the facility, told ABC 7 that her husband heard screaming and saw a SWAT team enter the building, moving staff away from windows and into a central area of the ophthalmology clinic. Police described the shooting as an "isolated incident." Helicopter footage showed police escorting people out of the building.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released the identities of the victims or any suspect information at this time. This is a developing story.
