San Rafael Apartment Fire Displaces Four Residents

A fire damaged two apartments and displaced four residents at the Venetia Oaks complex in San Rafael on Sunday evening. The blaze was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m.

at 263 N. San Pedro Road in the Santa Venetia neighborhood.

Firefighters arriving at the scene observed flames burning at the rear of the structure, according to Deputy Fire Chief Robert Sinnott of the San Rafael Fire Department. All occupants evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.

Crews brought the fire under control within 45 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Residents reported hearing loud noises before the fire started, Sinnott said. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
