25 Pioneer High School Athletes Sign College Letters of Intent in Historic Ceremony ● UPDATING

Last month, Pioneer High School in Woodland, California, held a historic night as the school celebrated 25 student-athletes who ceremonially signed their letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. The event marked a record-setting turnout, showcasing the depth of talent across multiple sports.

Among the honorees was Naomi Navarro, who made history as the first Pioneer student-athlete to sign on to play flag football at the college level. She will attend Saddleback College, where she will represent the Bobcats.

Navarro was a dominant multi-sport athlete at Pioneer, earning two-time MVP honors in flag football and one-time MVP honors in basketball, along with First-Team All-League nods in both sports. One of her standout achievements was recording six interceptions in a single flag football game.

During basketball season, she led the team with 13.4 points per game, along with 2.4 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game.

Paige Bishop will continue her career at Cosumnes River Community College, where she will play volleyball and represent the orange and navy blue. Alexandria Nunez, a four-year varsity volleyball player who served as captain during her junior and senior years, will attend Sacramento City College.

Nunez earned Golden Empire League and Monticello Empire League All-League honors, as well as Academic All-League recognition. She led her team in digs all four years and was named Defensive Player of the Year in three seasons.

During her senior year, she recorded 198 kills, 50 aces, 425 digs, and became Pioneer's new varsity career digs leader with 1,320.

Marisa Bryson will take her softball talents to Stanford University, where she will represent the Cardinal. Bryson earned MVP, All-League First Team, and All-League Academic Team honors from 2023 through 2026.

During her senior season, she led the team to a second-place finish in the MEL and a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV semifinal appearance. She topped the team in batting average (.530), runs (33), hits (44), RBI (28), triples (5), on-base percentage (.596), slugging percentage (.488), stolen bases (12), and home runs (3), while also hitting 11 doubles.

Defensively, she posted the SJS D4's second-best fielding percentage.

Caitlin Mayfield will attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, to play softball. She earned First Team All-League and Academic All-League honors as a freshman, followed by Second Team All-League and Academic All-League recognition as a sophomore.

As the team's catcher and Co-Team MVP this past year, she finished second on the team in batting average (.482), hits (41), RBI (26), and triples (3), while leading in doubles (12).

Gracie McGinty will attend Sierra College, where she will play softball. She earned MEL All-League and Academic All-League honors.

During her senior year, she finished second on the team in steals (6) and runs (26), hitting .350 with 28 hits and 12 RBI. Sophia O'Quelly will attend Feather River College, where she earned the Lady Patriot Award in 2025 and Academic All-League honors all four years.

She batted .309 as a senior, with 17 runs, 21 hits, and 10 RBI. Olivia Chavez, a multi-sport standout, will attend Yuba College.

In soccer, she earned the Patriots Award and All-League honors; in flag football, she was named All-League and Defensive Player of the Year; and in track and field, she is a school record holder in sprints.

Cristiana Garcia will attend Woodland Community College to play soccer and had 20 steals on the year. Natasha Hermosillo-Ramirez will attend American River College, amassing 38 steals as a senior.

Xiomara Gonzalez Gastile will play basketball at the College of Marin, where she averaged 2 points and 2 rebounds per game. Angeleyis Medina De La Fuente will attend American River College after earning multiple honors, including Freshman Volleyball MVP and Varsity Basketball MVP.

She averaged team highs in rebounds (7.5), along with 8.8 points and 1.5 assists per game. Madison Woltmon will attend the College of Marin, earning Academic All-League honors in track and field, flag football, and basketball.

On the football side, Jordan Constancio will attend Sacramento City College. He was a two-time MEL First Team All-League selection in football and baseball.

As a senior, he completed 141 passes for a school-record 1,935 passing yards and 24 touchdowns, with only 5 interceptions. He set the school record for touchdown passes in a game with 5 against Davis.

Enzo Lozano will attend Sierra College after earning MEL All-League Honorable Mention in football. Joe Mendez will attend Solano Community College after a 1,000-yard rushing season, totaling 1,001 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Max Pineda will attend Sierra College, leading the Patriots on defense with team highs in total tackles (132), solo tackles (50), and interceptions (3), among other stats.

Mario Sanabria will attend Sacramento City College. Owen Zickler will attend Sierra College, earning FFA State Degree, Football 2nd Team All-League, and Wrestling MEL MVP honors.

Bodie Britton will attend Sacramento City College, averaging 9.4 points per game as a senior, along with team highs in assists (3.7) and steals (2.1). Emiliano Romero will also attend Sacramento City College, putting up 12.5 points per game, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Oscar Ayala, Isaac Gonzalez, and Maks Raya—all members of Pioneer's 2026 Division III Sac-Joaquin Section championship soccer team—will attend Woodland Community College. Ayala scored 3 goals and had 5 assists in 8 games; Gonzalez scored a team-high 14 goals and added 6 assists; Raya had 3 goals and 2 assists in five games.

Cisco Quintana will play baseball at Cosumnes River College, where he averaged .212 with 19 runs, 14 hits, 11 RBI, and a team-high 18 stolen bases.

The night was a celebration of hard work, dedication, and the bright futures ahead for these 25 student-athletes, who will now continue their journeys at colleges and universities across California.
