Award-winning magician and illusionist Josiah Bunde brought his captivating show to the Wasco Library on Thursday, entertaining a lively crowd of children and families. The event was part of a series of presentations organized by the staff at the Wasco branch of the Kern County Library system.
Bunde performed a variety of illusions and tricks, leaving kids amazed as they tried to figure out how he executed each feat. "I loved all of his tricks," said 10-year-old Nicholas Chavez, who attended with his grandmother.
The young audience member's enthusiasm mirrored the excitement of many others in the room.
Originally from Hawaii, Bunde decided at around age 11 that he wanted to become a magician. Growing up with a stutter, he found that magic offered a way to communicate without relying on spoken words, bringing joy and wonder to audiences.
"Magic gave me a voice," Bunde said. "Without it, I don't think that I ever would have found one."
Bunde performs his act across the nation, sharing his unique blend of illusion and storytelling. The Wasco Library event was a highlight for local families, showcasing the library's commitment to offering engaging and educational programs for the community.
