The Downey Police Department is set to host the city's 13th annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Downey Civic Center.
The event, known nationally as 'America's Night Out Against Crime,' takes place each year on the first Tuesday of August. Its purpose is to promote crime prevention awareness, support local safety initiatives, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and foster partnerships between law enforcement and the community.
This year's celebration will feature safety education, community resources, live entertainment, complimentary food and beverages, children's activities, informational booths, and other family-friendly offerings. The Downey Fire Department staff will also be present, continuing their tradition of community engagement at the event.
The festivities will be held at the Downey Civic Center, located at 11111 Brookshire Avenue. Residents are encouraged to attend and connect with local public safety officials while enjoying a night of community togetherness.
