Cristian Roldan, a 30-year-old midfielder for the U.S. Men's National Team, is playing in the 2026 World Cup just miles from his hometown of Pico Rivera.
His family, who fled civil wars in Guatemala and El Salvador, are there to support him. Roldan chose to represent the U.S.
to give back for the opportunities his family received. The U.S.
plays group stage matches in Inglewood and Seattle, with Roldan's Seattle Sounders home stadium hosting one game.
