Santa Clarita is making significant progress on The Rink Sports Pavilion, a highly anticipated roller-skating facility located at the George A. Carvalho Sports Complex.
City Manager Ken Striplin provided an update, detailing that drywall installation is nearly complete, the ceiling grid has been installed throughout the building, and sound-absorbing panels are being mounted. Interior painting is nearing completion, giving the space a fresh look.
Major work has been finalized in key areas: restrooms are fully tiled, and the kitchen is near completion with walk-in coolers, freezers, stainless-steel hoods, and an ordering window now installed. Lighting installation continues both inside and outside, and City fiber has been connected.
Additional work is underway on the HVAC system, landscaping, exterior stonework, and windows. One of the most exciting milestones is the completion of the rink wall structural framing, offering residents a glimpse of the future venue for roller skating, special events, and community gatherings.
Once finished, the 25,000-square-foot facility will feature a 12,000-square-foot skating surface that can transform into a multisport arena for basketball, pickleball, and volleyball, along with stadium seating. It will also include a commercial kitchen, DJ booth, and dining areas, making it ideal for birthday parties, youth programs, and community celebrations.
The project reflects the City Council's commitment to recreation and community connection, joining other amenities like The Cube – Ice and Entertainment Center, parks, and trails.
