Buena Park will mark its third annual Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom on Friday, June 19, at Boisseranc Park. The evening event, scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m., is the first of several observances planned across Orange County to honor the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans and celebrate the contributions and vibrancy of the Black community.
The celebration will feature guest speakers, including Pastor Ivan S. Pitts of the Second Baptist Church and Dr.
Gloria J. Willingham-Toure, a social justice advocate.
The Blue Breeze Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. for live entertainment.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the outdoor festivities.
This event serves as a community gathering to reflect on the historical significance of Juneteenth while highlighting local culture and unity. Organizers invite residents and visitors alike to participate in this meaningful tradition.
