Youth Ride Free returns for summer 2026, offering free bus rides to youth 18 and under in Contra Costa County from June 1 through July 31. No application, ID, or special pass required to ride participating County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, and WestCAT buses.
Program helps students reach summer jobs, parks, libraries, and activities while building transit confidence. Made possible with support from Contra Costa County Supervisors Diane Burgis and Shanelle Scales-Preston, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, and state LCTOP funds.
Families can visit YouthRideFree or 511 CCTA for more youth transportation resources, including Pass2Class. The program aims to provide simple, barrier-free access to public transit for young residents throughout the summer.
