The Los Angeles Public Library has unveiled a World Cup-themed mural from 1994, now on display at the Central Library through 2028. - The mural, "World Encounter over El Arroyo Seco," was created by East Los Streetscapers artists David Botello and Wayne Healy.
- It originally welcomed visitors at Hollywood-Burbank Airport during the 1994 World Cup and was stored for over 30 years. - The artwork measures 9.5 by 24 feet and depicts soccer players floating toward a satellite above the Rose Bowl.
- The display coincides with the library's "Kick It in the Library" soccer-themed programs and will remain through the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
