Westwood Man Convicted of Murder, Aggravated Mayhem

A Lassen County jury has convicted a Westwood man for a violent 2023 homicide. Edward Harold Biggs was found guilty of First Degree Murder and Aggravated Mayhem.

The jury found he used an axe handle as a deadly weapon in the crime. Sentencing is scheduled for April 21, 2025.

The case was investigated by the Lassen County Sheriff's Office with assistance from CHP and a medical examiner. The District Attorney's office thanked the witnesses, jury, and victim's family, noting this was their fourth jury trial of the year.
