Ventura County Fire Opens New Live Fire Training Complex in Camarillo

The Ventura County Fire Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at its new live fire training complex in Camarillo. The facility is designed to provide realistic, hands-on emergency response training for firefighters.

- The complex includes two live fire training buildings and a four-story ladder training prop called 'Ladder Land.' - It features 17,833 square feet of indoor training space, 32 configurable rooms, and can accommodate up to 50 firefighters training simultaneously. - The facility supports a wide range of training scenarios, including fire suppression, search and rescue, ventilation, and incident command.

The $5 million project represents a significant investment in firefighter preparedness and regional safety, allowing year-round training under realistic conditions.
