Vallejo Project Launches Summer Fellowship to Combat Learning Loss for Middle School Youth

The Vallejo Project is launching 'Rooted & Rising,' a six-week Summer Leadership & Wellness Fellowship for youth ages 11 to 13 in Confidence, California. The program aims to mitigate summer learning loss through hands-on activities.

- Program runs June 8 to July 10, three days a week, 9 a.m. to noon, at 2160 Sacramento St.

- Curriculum includes urban gardening, creative arts (guitar, songwriting, spoken word), and wellness practices like emotional regulation. - Limited to 15 students with sliding scale tuition ($150-$250) and scholarships; $200 sponsors one student.

The fellowship combines leadership, wellness, and academics to help youth return to school at or above grade level in reading and math.
