Triple-digit temperatures will persist across the Central Valley through midweek, with highs near 100°F. Cooling is expected by the weekend, bringing temperatures closer to average for mid-June.

- Saturday highs: 100°F in Madera, 102°F in Hanford and Merced, 103°F in Fresno and Porterville, 104°F in Visalia. - Thunderstorms developed over the Sierra Nevada but were isolated due to dry air and strong high pressure.

- The high-pressure system will weaken slowly, keeping temperatures near 100°F for the next few days. - More significant cooling is expected by the end of the week, with highs dropping to near 90°F.
