Teen Girl Stabbed in Class at San Ysidro High School Sues District and Ex-Boyfriend

A 16-year-old girl who was repeatedly stabbed in her first-period class at San Ysidro High School last December is suing the Sweetwater Union High School District and her ex-boyfriend. The lawsuit reveals new details, including that the attacker wore bandages over his face and the classroom door was propped open due to broken air conditioning.

The suit alleges the district's safety plan was outdated since 2008, no security personnel were on campus, and cameras were not monitored live. The victim's attorney says she faces a long road to recovery.

The district declined to comment on the active litigation.
