The South of the Tracks Youth Softball League in southeast Bakersfield celebrated its 35th anniversary, highlighting its growth and community impact. - Founded to provide a safe environment for at-risk children, the league started with 4 teams and now has 16 teams serving about 250 kids.
- Sabrina Ingram, a former player and current coach, has been with the league since age 5; all three of her children have played. - Founding member Carlos Estrada noted the rewarding cycle of players becoming coaches.
The league's home field is East Belle Terrace Park West, and families gathered to mark the milestone.
