The City of Santa Monica invites the public to a free festival at the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday, June 4, from 4 p.m., marking 100 years of Route 66 at its iconic 'End of the Trail.' The event features a Texas theme with live country music, classic cars from the Petersen Automotive Museum, and a 72-ounce steak challenge from The Big Texan. A new 'End of the Trail Pale Ale' from Santa Monica Brew Works will debut.
The celebration is part of year-long programming including hotel discounts, commemorative merchandise, and a $10,000 Route 66 Song Contest.
