San Diego Gulls Owners' Foundation Proposes Massive New Ice Rink in Escondido

The Rinks Foundation, a nonprofit linked to the Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls, has proposed a new ice rink complex in Escondido's Kit Carson Park. - The proposal includes three sheets of ice, one with seating for 2,000-3,000 spectators, a restaurant, and training facilities.

- The facility would be fully funded and built by The Rinks Foundation, founded by Henry and Susan Samueli. - It would serve as a practice facility for the San Diego Gulls AHL team and host youth, adult, and high school hockey programs.

The Escondido City Council will consider a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday to explore feasibility, followed by community meetings.
