A Sunday night shootout in San Francisco's Bayview District left an SFPD officer and a robbery suspect critically wounded. The incident began with a chase from SoMa after police spotted a suspect vehicle.
The driver opened fire, hitting an officer multiple times; police returned fire, wounding the passenger. The driver was arrested.
The officer is expected to survive. Two guns were recovered, and 19 shots were fired.
Investigations are ongoing by multiple agencies.
