Ride Historic Steam Trains Through the Redwoods

08 April 2026 05:30

Roaring Camp Railroads offers a unique historic journey aboard 19th-century steam trains through the majestic Santa Cruz Mountains. The railroad operates some of America's oldest preserved narrow-gauge steam locomotives, including Shay, Heisler, and Climax models from the logging era.

Trips travel over trestles and through redwood groves to Bear Mountain, with conductors narrating the area's history. Not all historic engines are operational daily due to restoration work, and schedules/prices are subject to change.

This immersive experience provides a direct connection to the region's rich logging and railroad heritage.
