Pakistan Airstrikes in Afghanistan Kill 13 Civilians, Shatter Ceasefire

10 June 2026 07:50

Pakistan launched airstrikes on Afghanistan early Wednesday, killing 13 civilians and wounding 14 others, shattering a month-long lull in cross-border fighting. The strikes hit Khost, Kunar, and Paktika provinces.

Pakistan said it targeted militant hideouts linked to recent attacks inside Pakistan, claiming 26 militants killed. The incident follows a deadly attack on a Pakistani security post a day earlier.

The border remains closed since October, disrupting trade and travel.
