Mountain View to spend $5M on road repairs

11 May 2026 16:30

Mountain View is set to invest $5 million in a street maintenance project to repair and repave nearly 1 million square feet of roadway this summer. - The project covers more than a dozen streets, including Mariposa Avenue, Sierra Vista Avenue, Farley Avenue, and Rock Street.

- Work includes repaving, restriping, new crosswalks, and bicycle pavement markings. - Roads are in worse condition than expected, and delaying repairs could increase costs.

- Funding comes from city funds, state gas taxes, and regional community taxes. The City Council will vote on the project at its Tuesday meeting, with an additional $500,000 recommended for the effort.
