The Mendo Food Network has launched a Freight Fund Campaign to address rising transportation costs in Mendocino County, backed by a $2,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor. An anonymous donor has pledged a $2,000 matching gift to double donations until the challenge is met.
Mendocino County’s geography requires food to travel hundreds of miles weekly to reach distribution sites. In 2025, MFN served 17,914 people, distributed 2.69 million pounds of food, and mobilized 245 volunteers.
The campaign supports fuel, vehicle costs, and deliveries to rural and underserved communities. The initiative aims to ensure continued access to nutritious food despite rising expenses.
