Madera County Rental Owner Arrested for Secretly Recording Guests

13 April 2026 10:38

A Madera County rental property owner has been arrested for allegedly recording guests, including children, without their consent during private moments. Christian Parmalee Edwards, 44, faces felony charges for possession/distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material and invasion of privacy.

The investigation, sparked by a national tip, uncovered over 4,000 illicit images and videos of victims recorded on-site, not via hidden cameras. Edwards had been renting the Oakhurst home near Yosemite High School since 2023.

Authorities are urging anyone who stayed at the property from 2023 to March 2026 to come forward as they may be victims. The case has alarmed the local community, with neighbors expressing relief at the arrest but concern over the predatory behavior.
