A Madera County man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing next month related to allegations he secretly recorded guests at his Oakhurst rental property. Christian Edwards, 44, will appear in court on May 22 after waiving his right to a speedy trial.
Investigators say evidence of secret filming dates back to July 2025, when the property was first listed as a short-term rental. Edwards faces a felony charge for possession of child sexual abuse material, though no victims have been identified.
The case remains under active investigation by authorities.
