A Livermore woman died in a motorcycle crash after running a red light. Her son had been killed in a 2018 homicide.
- Janelle Margaret Benson Weispfenning, 50, died after colliding with a Tesla at Isabel Avenue and Stanley Boulevard. - The other driver, an 87-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and had the right of way.
- Benson Weispfenning was a Livermore native and tow truck operator. - Her son Jacob Benson was stabbed to death in Tracy in 2018; his killer was sentenced to 15 years.
The crash remains under investigation.
