Levee Raising Project Begins Near Walnut Creek and Highway 4

The Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District has started a levee improvement project to enhance flood protection around the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District wastewater treatment plant in Martinez. - The project will raise the western levee along Grayson Creek and Walnut Creek between Highway 4 and the BNSF railroad tracks.

- Construction runs through Dec. 31, weekdays from 7 a.m.

to 5 p.m., excluding holidays, weather permitting. - Drivers may experience minor delays on Imhoff Drive near Grayson Creek, east of the treatment plant.

This initiative aims to reduce flood risks to the treatment facility and strengthen local flood defenses.
