La Jolla High Lacrosse Wins CIF Division I Title with Last-Second Victory

The La Jolla High School girls lacrosse team won the 2026 CIF San Diego Section Division I championship with a dramatic 11-10 victory over Mt. Carmel on May 15.

- The championship was decided in the final seconds by a game-winning goal from Allison Hawthorne. - The Lady Vikings started the season 2-3 but went on a five-game winning streak and finished the regular season 11-5.

- In the playoffs, they defeated Francis Parker 16-9 and Del Norte 12-7, avenging a 2025 semifinal loss. - Head coach Carrie Long praised the team's growth and composure under pressure throughout the season.
